At Tilem & Associates, we are dedicated to protecting the rights, reputations, and freedom of all of our clients. With over 30 years of experience, we possess the extensive knowledge of the New York legal system to help you navigate through the possible complexities of your case. Do not risk facing these serious charges without experienced and trustworthy legal counsel. As New York’s premier gun rights attorneys our attorneys have the experience, skill and knowledge to defend the toughest and most serious gun crimes.

Due to school shootings, street violence and other random acts of violence involving firearms occurring at a frequent rate, as well as political expedience, New York has imposed severe penalties on the unlawful possession of firearms. New York criminalizes even the most brief and innocent possession of any handgun without a license issued by New York State and offers no reciprocity for those who possess a license from another State. In addition, New York has both limits on the capacity of firearm magazines and the types of guns that a person may own with onerous penalties including the possibility of prison for any violation. If you have been arrested and charged with a gun crime, it is imperative to obtain legal representation from a qualified criminal defense lawyer who not only knows the law but understands gun laws and rights.

Our attorneys will analyze whether a suppression motion is appropriate in order to attempt to have firearms that are seized as a result of illegal police conduct or in violation of a defendant’s Fourth Amendment right should be suppressed. Our attorneys are experienced in conducting suppression hearings and have successfully litigated numerous hearings.
